Taisabaki (Manipulative body movement keeping stable balance)

I. Posture

Erect standing posture to be assumed at the beginning. Natural standing posture ready for prompt movement.

II. Purpose

Taisabaki aims to acquire speed and manipulation in your body movement, keeping always stable balance of your body. Taisabaki is fundamental to improve not only Ridatsuho and Seigoho but also Randori and Goshin-ho.

III. Techniques

(1) Tai-no-ido (Movement forward, backwards and sidewards)

From natural standing posture advance forward by one pace with your right foot then left foot and assume natural standing posture. After then, retreat backwards by one pace on your left foot then right foot and assume natural standing posture.

Advance forward by one pace with your left foot then right foot and assume natural standing posture. After then, retreat backwards by one pace on your right foot then left foot and assume natural standing posture.

From natural standing posture move rightward by one pace from your right foot then left foot and assume natural standing posture.


Move leftward by one pace from your left foot then right foot and assume natural standing posture. While moving, keep your gravity as low as possible.
