Is it extant or extinct?
amadus
Well, there is this...

Ga. Nidan
I was not impressed at all by that.
darph
That definitely had an adverse effect on my testosterone levels. I think i just grew a teet.
amadus
Perhaps I should post it in the Kata forum... meh.gif

You may wish to first know what you're looking at before finalizing judgment, hence why you may find my post in the Kata thread useful.

Is it proper to wear your judo pants under your akido dress?
Ga. Nidan
I am just saying that it seemed as though it was so ill timed, which made it seem that it would not work. Darph you need to a little more tactful in the way you post your opinions. If you dont like it please say so but do not disrespect others in doing so.

It's a valid question. Those dresses are pretty sweet. I'd buy one but I don't have a solid black gi-top to go ninja-babe mode.
DexterTCN
It's not a dress, it's trousers - if you'd looked.

The same ones ninja wore, except they strapped them up, iirc.

Just normal trousers for the period. smile.gif

Trousers?! huh.gif Maybe the word which was meant to be used was "Hakama". They appear to be a tad short ... but "Hakama" none the less.
Cady Goldfield
Be nice. wink.gif

Hakama are traditional Japanese male attire, kind of a coulotte or split skirt. Originally, they were meant for horseback riding, worn with shorter "kimono-jackets" rather than the long, awkward classic kimono that both men and women wore.

They're held up with long ties/straps you have to wrap and tie in a particular way so the knot doesn't become a painful pressure point on your belly. Not good when doing randori in various MAs that use that attire.
