Those are actual, specific unarmed defensive tactic techniques taught for very specific situations, often in institutional setting and against attacks by minors (children). Used for situations where the defender must immediately stop after the attack is thwarted. The one attacked is unarmed in the real world. The throat poke out of a choke is usually taught with two fingers, not one.

I saw the original a while back and I really didn't think it was as bad as everyone made it out to be. There were certainly some "not so good moments" and DEFINITELY a dork factor... but I really didn't think it was as bad as all that.

If you need your glasses to see, it's probably a bad idea to throw them away!!!

The techniques themselves aren't all that bad, some better than others. They have the same problem as Aikido though, the lack of any randori standing or on the ground makes it unlikely that they would ever pull this stuff off.

Yes. I remember losing plenty of colleagues when the lions gave chase. Even among the dorks though, there are the dorks, the dorkiers, and the dorkiests. The lions usually got the dorkiests. Just really culling the herd. Natural selection.
