I was wondering if anybody has any information on Sambo in Canada such as sanctioning bodies , tournaments , clinics , coaches and anythin els . I also would like too know about who teaches it in Ontario and why it is not as popular in U.S.A .

I am part of the Canadian Combat Sambo Federation wich is kinda the equivalent of Steve"s ASA in the USA. However, we just started last year and dont have just yet the development that the ASA has.

Thanks for the information it is greatly appreactied . I heard that there are a few Judo Sensai in Ontario who have done sport sambo such as Ron Angus , My coach Mara Markovich-Siladi and the head coach of the Tsunami club in toronto , I heard that Igor Yakimov is working and living in Ruussia a of late and I was wondering what happend to his culb ? I was also wondering if your organization also host Sport Sambo tournaments .

I heard that Yakimov's club kept going for a while under one of his student. As for now, I dont know if it is still going on.


We do freestyle sambo comps in cooperation with the American Sambo Association.

Its usually once or twice a year and on the same day there is the Combat Sambo tournament.

Thank you from what my sensai told me he was involed in a Russian movie I think to hel train the guys . I remeber one of my team mates asking him where he was the last year and he siad busy in Russia. I usally seem him a the Spirit of the Eagle camp every summer in the U.S however I couldnt go this year .
